CAREER NAVIGATORS

How does the role of a Career Navigator improve the experience of adult learners?

A Career Navigator is employed by adult education programs to guide and support adults as they develop the basic skills needed for employment and economic self-sufficiency. Navigators guide learners in career exploration and then identify the skills and education needed for their chosen career.

Adult learners may face challenges such as transitions to the workforce or to transition to further education and training. The role of a Navigator is to help the learner make the progress needed to have success in both their education and employment.

A Career Navigator can provide adult education students:

WorkKeys Test
This test is required to participate in programs offered at Madison Adult Career Center, Pioneer Career & Technology Center, and Ashland West Holmes Career Center.

College entrance exams
Students have the opportunity to avoid fees for remedial math and reading classes that don’t offer credits.
