What Is the ASVAB?
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude test used by the U.S. military to measure your abilities and predict success in military careers.
Your score helps determine:
- Eligibility for enlistment
- Military job qualifications (MOS/ratings)
- Opportunities for advancement and promotion
Program Details
- Length: 6 weeks
- Schedule: Meet virtually on Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5-8 PM
- Cost: None because we are grant funded
This course is specifically designed to help you improve your AFQT and GT scores, which are critical for military entry, job selection, and advancement opportunities.

C.O.S.T. PROGRAM
Having experience in technology is an essential requirement for many continuing education programs and jobs. We can help you learn or refine your computer and customer service skills with our free** C.O.S.T. Program.
WHAT IS C.O.S.T.?
This program prepares the student for entry-level employment in retail or service industries. The program introduces students to computer hardware/software; focuses on effective communication and customer service skills; and covers basic financial transactions.
Prepare for certifications in:
- NRF Customer Service & Sales
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Outlook
C.O.S.T Program note: 90% attendance is required.
**Most of our learners can take this course completely free. Our partners MACC and Richland County Job & Family Services provide free grants to cover the cost of this course. The cost is also covered if you are TANF eligible.
CAREER NAVIGATORS
How does the role of a Career Navigator improve the experience of adult learners?
A Career Navigator is employed by adult education programs to guide and support adults as they develop the basic skills needed for employment and economic self-sufficiency. Navigators guide learners in career exploration and then identify the skills and education needed for their chosen career.
Adult learners may face challenges such as transitions to the workforce or to transition to further education and training. The role of a Navigator is to help the learner make the progress needed to have success in both their education and employment.
A Career Navigator can provide adult education students:
WorkKeys Test
This test is required to participate in programs offered at Madison Adult Career Center, Pioneer Career & Technology Center, and Ashland West Holmes Career Center.
College entrance exams
Students have the opportunity to avoid fees for remedial math and reading classes that don’t offer credits.
